Why does high ping occur and how to reduce it?
Ping is the time it takes for a signal from your device to reach the server and return. If the ping is lower, the faster the data transfer.
What affects ping?
- Distance to the server: If the server you are connecting to is farther away, the longer it takes to transfer data. It is recommended to use Ukrainian and European servers.
- Server load: A high load from the number of connections can increase ping, even if your Internet connection is stable.
- Obstacles in the route to the server: Internet packets pass through a large network, including other providers. Ping may increase due to technical failures or planned maintenance.
- Technical aspects of the equipment: For example, Wi-Fi, especially at 2.4GHz, can be subject to interference from other devices or walls. It is also worth paying attention to the condition of your router or computer, as they can directly affect the stability of your connection.
- International blocking or traffic filtering: In some cases, ping may increase due to traffic filtering at the national or international level (for example, blocking Russian resources).
