Let's talk about the TP-Link Archer AX23 router. We will understand its capacities, advantages and disadvantages. We already had a review on the Archer series router, so if you read it, you can compare both devices.

Packaging, assembly, tactility

The set is quite standard: in the box the device itself, charging, cable for the Internet and a set of instructions in different languages. A 12 W battery is important if you need to pick up a power bank or an uninterruptible power supply in case of blackouts.

Also 4 antennas, ensuring a good internet connection. But it will not work to replace them in case of a breakdown or to upgrade the device. They don't take off. Also, according to the TP Link standard, the router has 4 LAN ports (orange) and 1 WAN port for connecting the Internet from the provider (blue port). All ports are gigabit, so the router is suitable for any Internet.

Also typical indicators for tracking Internet problems, connection quality, and so on. The archer ax23 has very bright ones, but they can be turned off in the settings. For example, if they interfere at night.

The case is assembled firmly, nothing will hold together. At the same time, it is quite large overall - as much as 260 × 126 × 40 mm. There are also surfaces that are fairly smooth, which can leave traces of dusting for fingerprints. On the positive side, the case is well cooled thanks to thoughtful ventilation. And the antennas are bent, which allows you to attach the router to the wall and so that nothing sticks out.

Characteristics

Wi-Fi Standard: Supports the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard for faster data transfer rates and more reliable connectivity than previous Wi-Fi standards.

tp link ax23 has a very acceptable speed: 4804 Mbps at 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps at 2.4 GHz, respectively. And this is for a wireless connection and on basic firmware. It is especially good that the router supports Wi-Fi 6 in order to comfortably work at such a speed. There is an external radio unit for the sixth Wi-Fi, which operates at a frequency of 2 and 5 GHz.

It has a convenient web interface and the TP-Link Tether mobile application for configuring and managing the router from any smartphone.

All settings are available in the web version, standard for TP Link. There is also a Tether mobile application - it does not have all the network management features, as in the web version, but the basic setup is much more ergonomic.

It can work as a standard router and as an access point.

Nuances of use

The main advantage is Wi-Fi 6. This is the ability to work at the maximum speed provided by the provider. In addition, the wireless connection does not eat as much speed, so in an office or home where there are many users, there is no sagging speed. You can watch 4K video, play online games and download large files right through your browser.

Thanks to the high speed of the dual-core processor, good antennas and gigabit ports, Wi-Fi coverage easily copes with three-room apartments of 70 or even 110 squares. You can even connect multiple Wi-Fi 6 devices without slowing down or freezing.

It also supports IPTV: it is convenient if the user has some kind of Chinese set-top box. They often have conflicts with routers, firmware or software. The Archer ax23 handles those as well. Configuration details are in the web interface of the router.

How to setup?

In principle, versions of different firmware for different models are configured similarly. For example, the tp link archer ax23 router is configured in much the same way as the tp link archer ax23 ax1800. Therefore, we have already collected instructions for TP Link routers here.

Is it worth buying? Advantages and Disadvantages

Advantages:

  • Powerful Wi-Fi 6 with large coverage area and fast wireless connection
  • Reinforced hardware: dual-core processor, dedicated RAM for firmware for speed, good ventilation.
  • Flexible settings: for example, you can even turn off the indicators on the case.
  • You can connect guest networks and configure their operation.
  • Robust housing with good ventilation, antennas can be placed in a vertical or horizontal position

Disadvantages:

  • Enough large body, no removable antennas for upgrades or cheaper repairs. In which case, you will have to buy a new device, and not change one antenna.
  • Some places on the case are smooth and may get scratched over time and the router will lose its presentation

If you need a high-quality wireless signal in the house for many devices at once, it makes sense to take a closer look at this model. In our tp link archer ax23 store, the price already includes delivery, configuration and installation of the router.

We continue to write reviews on the equipment necessary for the quality work of the Internet.
