  1. The procedure for connecting to the Internet in non-residential premises
  2. How to amplify the signal in the basement?

Due to the military situation in Ukraine, many people are often forced to stay in shelters. Staying connected is extremely important right now. Therefore, BRIZ organizes Internet connection in bomb shelters, basements, parking lots and territorial defense premises in its coverage area.

The procedure for connecting to the Internet in non-residential premises

In order to connect the Internet to the basement, you must leave a request to the support operator. This can be done through the feedback form on the site or by calling one of the indicated phone numbers. If you fill out an application online, the support operator will call you back, answer all questions and help you choose the optimal package speed. To conduct the Internet in non-residential premises, the operator will check in advance the availability of technical feasibility at the specified address. After that, select a convenient time to connect. The master will come at the appointed time, install and connect the necessary equipment.

How to amplify the signal in the basement?

If you have your own basement, then there is no need to separately conduct the Internet to non-residential premises. It is enough to correctly position the router so that the device can transmit a signal to the shelter.

1. Router location

When installing a router, it is important to know that the fewer obstacles there are between the transmitting and receiving equipment, the better the signal quality will be. If we are talking about Wi-Fi in the basement, then you need to install the router on the floor so that it is directly above you. Also, avoid nearby electrical appliances. They can download channels using the emitted frequency from the device.

2. Optional equipment

If the signal is still weak, then you need to purchase a Wi-Fi repeater - this is a device that complements the router, relaying the signal, thereby increasing the data transfer rate. Such a device is often used for commercial purposes or large premises.

Wireless access points are another equipment that we recommend installing for a large space. In access point mode, the device connects to a router or modem via cable, after which access to the Internet is distributed via a Wi-Fi network.

You can choose the right device on our website in the "Equipment" section.

3. Setting up a router

Modern dual-band equipment operates according to the standard - 802.11ac. This allows the router to transmit a stronger signal. But you can also increase the speed and range of your wireless network on single-band routers with the outdated 802.11n standard.

Changing Router Mode Settings:

1. Settings are made at the address of the router: 192.168.0.1.

2. Go to the section Wireless - "Wireless Network".

3. Go to the item Mode - "Wireless Network Mode".

4. Select the value N only - Save - "Save".

5. After all the steps, restart the device.

You can read more about strengthening the Wi-Fi signal at home in our blog articles “How to make the Internet speed faster?” and “How to strengthen the signal of the router?”.

It's important to be online now more than ever! If you need to provide Internet to a non-residential premises, please contact our support operator. The BRIZ team will help in connecting the Internet and setting up the necessary equipment in the shelters of Odessa.
